Biography 

Mr. Lutkewitte has been with Favret, Demarest, Russo & Lutkewitte since 1973, primarily handling commercial recovery and litigation matters in State and Federal Court in Louisiana.

Tom has represented creditors throughout Louisiana for over 39 years and has extensive experience in all forms of recovery, including construction claims and litigation. In that regard, Mr. Lutkewitte has also represented creditors in bankruptcy matters, both secured and unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 corporate reorganization proceedings as well as bankruptcy adversary litigation in such areas as the ranking and determination of liens and objections to discharge.

In connection with the representation of various bank clients, Mr. Lutkewitte has also acted as defense counsel for various banks for the past 25 years in matters involving lease claims and a significant number of defense matters for claims asserted against the banks for forgery and other fraud related matters.

  • Dean J. Favret was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 16, 1963. He attended the University of New Orleans and received his B.A. degree in 1986. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Law School in 1990.

  • Lauren A. Favret is the firm's managing partner. Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature with minors in Italian and International Relations from McGill University of Montreal, Canada. She received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University College of Law. Lauren received the highest grade award in her Moot Court class and served as Chairwoman of the Moot Court Board, a program consistently ranked at the top in the nation. Additionally, Lauren was inducted into The Order of the Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing. Prior to joining the firm, Lauren served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney for the Parish of Orleans, where she tried more than forty judge and jury trials.
